My Year In Review: Book Version!

Okay so the past couple weeks have gone by so fast that I forgot to do a post. Now its 2019 and here I am! 2018 was just totally awesome... my brothers graduated from college, Becca and I got to go to summer camp for the first time, an AWESOME day-trip to Chicago... and the list goes on!

I can also say that I've read a lot of books in 2018. So here is a list of some of the books that I read this year and loved! From what I remember anyway... :)

 (1) Here to Stay by Melissa Tagg
Pretty much a typical Hallmark movie ... but in a book!
Autumn Kingsley feels stuck running her family's inn in the small town Whisper Shore,
where she's lived her whole life when all she's always wanted to do is see the world.
Finally, an opportunity comes when a potential investor who could take over the inn
is scheduled for a visit. All she has to do is fix up the inn in time ... in two weeks.

The Kingsleys and Hunzikers have never really gotten along but when Blake Hunziker
finally returns from years of adventures and finds himself in charge of the
Christmas Festival, he knows Autumn is the only one who can help him.
So they agree to a trade: she'll help with the Festival and he'll help with inn repairs.

(2) Gunner's Run by Rick Barry
In 1943, nineteen-year-old Jim Yoder is serving in the United States Army Air Corps
as a waist gunner flying on a B-24 high above the battlefield.
The only thing he misses is the pretty Margo Lace, back home in Elkhart, Indiana.
Jim believes he is the master of his fate--until through a series of events
he ends up alone, on foot, and on the run across Hitler's Europe.
As Jim tries to stay one step ahead of his pursuers to reach Allied soil,
he discovers that to survive he will have to trust the God he once rejected.
This Christian fiction book is full of excitement, danger, and realistic details
about World War II Europe. (From Amazon)

(3) Critical Care by Candace Calvert
After her brother dies in a trauma room, nurse Claire Avery can no longer face the ER.
She's determined to make a fresh start―new hospital, new career in nursing education―
move forward, no turning back. But her plans fall apart when she's called to offer
stress counseling for medical staff after a heartbreaking day care center explosion.
Worse, she's forced back to the ER, where she clashes with Logan Caldwell,
a doctor who believes touchy-feely counseling is a waste of time. He demands his staff
be as tough as he is. Yet he finds himself drawn to this nurse educator . . .
who just might teach him the true meaning of healing. (From Amazon)

(4) The Call of the Wild by Jack London
It's a classic ... what else do I need to say?? :)

(5) A Memory Between Us by Sarah Sundin
Major Jack Novak has never failed to meet a challenge--until he meets
army nurse Lieutenant Ruth Doherty. When Jack lands in the army hospital
after a plane crash, he makes winning Ruth's heart a top priority mission. But he has
his work cut out for him. Not only is Ruth focused on her work in order to
support her orphaned siblings back home, she carries a shameful secret that keeps
her from giving her heart to any man. Can Jack break down her defenses?
Or are they destined to go their separate ways? (From Amazon)

So what I realized from this list is that I pretty much only read Christian romance and that these were all new authors to me. So that's interesting... :-) Also! I am currently reading an advanced copy of The Secrets of Paper and Ink by Lindsay Harrel (another new author!) that I won from a giveaway and SO FAR (about 100 pages in) it is really good. So check it out when it actually releases February 26!
Happy reading and comment below what YOUR favorite read-in-2018 books are!!
